The Noisy Freaks & Wicked City – Get Down | New Funk Essentials

Tune of the month. The guys are absolutely killing it!

FunkSummer cover

The Noisy Freaks has been a long time favorite since their absolutely amazing glitch funk debut in 2012 (listen below) where they remixed Stevie Wonder. They’ve grown better and better, and have this Autumn been touring with GRiZ and Gramatik respectively — could it get any funkier?

Wicked City on the other hand is a bit new to the game – as a group that is. The group was formed this year and consists of the already highly skilled artists Krafty Kuts, Erb N Dub, Dynamite MC, Skope, Steve Yamaha & Damein Soul. When they released their single So Good (Vocal Mix) we knew that the those fellas was really onto something! They grew better and better, and the four months old debut-EP was the amazing culmination.

Now the two groups have joined forces – and damn it’s a winner. The funk is incredible, and the Wicked City vocals are spot on fantastic. There is no doubt in our mind when we label this as the best track of November — and hell.. one of the best of 2015!

Check it out below, as well as three favorites from both The Noisy Freaks and Wicked City – this is modern electronic funk music of the best kind!

Enjoy, and let us know what you think over on Twitter or Facebook.
